Hacked WoW - but no swine flu!

So the last few days have been busy. Sunday. 4 hour long workmeeting followed by dinner. Alot of stuff got said, some things didn't get said but overall I hope for improvement but I guess only time will tell. Since we will get a new boss in two months it will be interesting what happens after that.

Monday evening when I got home I realised my WoW account gotten hacked. I guess I should be happy it havent happened earlier but loosing 16k gold + loads of mats + gear is a bit of a yawn. Right now account is suspended while they are investigating. Its a fun thing though, I aren't even half as upset as I thougt I would be. The thing that annoyed me the most was that the bloody hacker messed up my UI a bit and it took me ages to remember where I used to have my spells. Ah well, I think it will work itself out, I just want my account back!

Today me and Thomas went to get our vaccinations against the swine flu. We are both in what is considered "risk groups" so we thought we should be smart and get it.

It amazes me how stupid some people are about this, here in Sweden a big part of the youth thinks that one of the side effects of the vaccine is that your fingers grow longer. Also, alot of Swedes seem scared that the vaccine contains alot of mercury. Oh yes, its loads and loads... one dose contains about as much mercury as half a portion of fish. Oh noes, how ever will we survive that?
People, honestly! Read up before you go cry cry about it. I am happy I got the vaccination, even tho my arm hurts a bit if I move it certain ways. But hey, there is a solution to that aswell... I try to not move it the ways that hurt! Oh my, I am smart! S-M-R-T!
Will get the injection in 3-4 weeks. I think it is for the best, I get whiny as hell from an ordinary flu. I don't even wanna know what I would be like with the swine flu.

Work, work, work

So, the Media Markt store I work in celebrate 2 years. Too bad first day of celebration was day before the paycheck arrives. Yesterday was beyond dull. But we kept busy. Putting up new stuff in the shelves, fixing and cleaning and things like that.

Yesterday was the first of seven straight workdays. Taking it one day at the time, trying not to overthink it. However, I guess blogging about it counts as thinking about it. Ah well.

I am really enjoying work right now however, even when its alot of it. Most of the people are nice and.. well, thats all you can expect isn't it? At a workplace that big you can't love everyone. Only problem with a work place that big, people keep chatting to you in the lunch room even when you try to read. Poor me. Luxuary problems.

Time to get dressed and things like that. Prepare lunch box (I got my lunch box and I'm armed real well).

Froggy love

It all started when I played EverQuest all those years ago. I played a froglok, in other words a pink frog that could walk on two legs. She was amazingly cute and of course got put through alot of teasing. Frog legs joke get boring after awhile, just so you know! I posted a picture on her on the first Gaming post if anyone is curious.

That is where my love of frogs started. I kept defending her against evil french frog eaters for so long I grew fond of both her and the wonderful animal she was based on. And so it started, I started collecting frogs. I do not have that many, even though I would love more it is hard to find really pretty frogs. Here is a post of a part of my frogs, lacking a few candles and cards and things like that. (Winnie the Pooh is there becaue he got a frog on his head)

As you see it is not easy to take picture at my place, Emeriss was way too nosy about the frog chime that I got from Jonna and Sven (loooove it).

At the front of the first picture you see the specially made frog couple that sat on our wedding cake. It is handmade, both frogs with glasses just like me and Thomas and her roses to match the few roses I had. I am happy to have a husband wonderful enough to let his wife-to-be crown their wedding cake with frogs!

So, if you find cute frogs of any kind, send them my way!

Day of the cinnamon bun

We swedes got strange days. Today it is the day of the cinnamon bun. I love baking, so I saw that as an excuse to bake! Thomas prefer vanilla buns and as the wonderful wife I am I let him do them even tho it isn't their day today!

Sven came over with Figaro (mr dog) and after some oven pancake we got down to the baking. My lovely little machine did most of the work with the dough and we sat slacking watching WoW movies while we waited for the dough to rise (The Brothers Tauren is still a very fun movie). Once the dough was ready we got down to the real work. However, Thomas was a slacker and let me and Sven do most of the work. He just sprinkled some vanilla sugar on his and that was about it.

It was great fun, baking with company is always nicer than doing it all alone. And the buns turned out wonderful (mine looked best, of course) and tasted perfect!

Here is the finished result of our effort:

Now I wonder, when is "Day of the pizza"?

My town

When you are in your teens, you usually want away from wherever you live. So did I. I could not stand the thought of living in Norrköping one second more than needed. Now, 10 or so years later I would prefer not to leave. Maybe I have to for work, but even then I would hope to come back some day.

I will not be writing much today, because its early, I am tired, I need to head to work and... these pictures will say it all. This is of one of my favourite parts of town, the old industrial area where Holmen and Tuppen and many others had big factorys. Now it is transformed to museeums and university and it is beautiful!

This is my town.

When idols die

Even though I myself aren't a Michael Jackson fan I can still see it as a big loss when a person like that dies. Someone that has been an idol for millions. And the other day it happened again when Patrick Swayze passed away due to cancer.

In a world where celebreties are everywhere, of course it means more when we loose them. They aren't just a flicker on the screen, even if we don't care the media will gladly let us know the color of their boxershorts and what they had for breakfast. Quite a few also reach outside their own little corner of the public world. They go into politics, collect money for the poor, they are the faces for makeup and clothes as well as the UN.

I been thinking about it before, and I can't really imagine a world with no Sean Connery. No Clint Eastwood. No Anthony Hopkins. Even though both MJ and Swayze died young it feels like it has slowly started. The passing away of the big ones. The ones you grew up watching. I guess todays star will mean as much to the kids in 10-20 years. But somehow I can not compare the likes of Shia LaBeouf and (yes, I know I am a fan but still) Robert Pattinson the the amazing acting of Connery and Hopkins.

About mr Swayze though. Even I am a Dirty Dancing fan, that isn't what I feel like watching. I need to re-watch The Outsiders!

TV shows again!

So, now it is finally starting again. TV shows! We are off to a slow start with the season 5 premiere of Supernatural and the start of the new show The Vampire Diaries.

Lets start from the beginning. Supernatural! I want next weeks episode now! I have been longing for this show and it did not let me down. Of course part of me miss the first season when they were off hunting supernatural legends all over the US but on the other hand, 5 seasons of only that would be boring after awhile so I do understand why they push it in another direction. Plus Dean is kinda... nice to look at. Very nice.

About Vampire Diaries. I read the books back when I was 16 or so, and even then they felt rather silly. The sort of innocent sweet teenagers you see in High School Musical and did not feel realistic at all. The TV show though, they made it loads better. It isnt the silly childish thing anymore. So far, it seems very promising. And the vampires are kinda sexy! Sexy vampires are all I care about!

Talking about sexy vampires, I am SO looking forward to New Moon in November. I just hope I can get to watch it without all the screaming little girls.

Shopping spree

Yesterday I went on a shopping spree. Not a very big one but still, a shopping spree! Thomas had managed to loose his cell phone (while drunk, I might add) but we had already planned to get him a new one anyway so went out to Media Markt (my workplace) and soon found someone that is decent enough for someone that only use it for calls and text messages. Sony Ericsson w302.  Me, I got a Sony Ericsson w200i that will do for another year or so, I am also the kind to only use it for phone calls and text messages and maybe an audio book sometimes.

Then it was time for my part of the shopping, I was on the hunt for a new camera. Chatting a bit with one of the girls at work I soon realised what camera I want. I was looking at camera A, but I could get the better camera B for same price, and that included camera case and memory so the choice was not even all that hard. Employe discount is really nice things. So this is what I bought:

Panasonic DMC-FS62. It is all blue and shiny and pretty. I was looking at the red one at start, but I am very happy with the blue one, I am in love with it already. I am even pondering naming it (suggestions please?. You also see the very cute camera case I bought for it, very good since this camera I will bring with me pretty much all the time.

Today we went on a little walk up to ÖB (low price store) to buy some new Dove shampo and other things. I brought my dear little camera but of course it was all gloomy and cloudy and a raingrey town is not all that fun to take photos of but I took photos anyway, need to use my blue little toy.

First picture is of the open grass area at the end of our street. A very nice place for sun bathing on less cloudy days.

Then we have a syringa that was just so pretty I had to take a picture of it. Love the flower, hate the smell.

Last one is during the walk up to ÖB, I almost thought it would start to raid with those dark clouds above. But we were lucky and the only water that touched us blew down from a tree.

Time for me to prepare food, enchilladas today. Perhaps more of a friday food really, but on friday it is crayfish time!

August Festival

Every year Norrköping hosts something they call Augustifesten or August Festival for you non-swedes. It's a combination of market, firework, tivoli, music, food and nice things like that. Although the music isn't all that nice and you usually feel better if you ignore that part.

For me it is the market and fireworks that are interesting. Due to stupid flu I decided that going outside in the cold (rainy) evening to watch fireworks might not be the best idea. I refused to miss the market tho, sick or not! It is alot of tents that mainly sell things you would not touch with a 10 foot pole. And it is almost as fun to people-watch as to watch the actual merchandise.

We did see a couple of raggare that of course went straight for the cheap t-shirts with stupid prints on them. Like the "Fuck you! I drive a Volvo" one that almost brought my breakfast back up again. Well, I guess I should not complain just because people got greasy hair and dress from top to toe in jeans with stupid badges on them and listening to Eddie Meduza... no wait, this does seem like a really good reason to complain!

On with the story, the whole idea with the market (according to me and Thomas) is to try interesting food. So we sampled sausages (and bought a wild boar sausage) and cookies and donuts. But not the actual food this year, I am still a bit grumpy about not getting the nacho plate but considering I really wasn't hungry I guess I was right on passing on it.

We did see a living statue that was really quite brilliant. Or rather, living robot in this case.

He was very cute and started moving if he was given money. Mostly people sent their kids up to place the money and then he picked them some imaginary flowers. That part was a bit too sweet for my taste so... ofc... I did not give money. Plus I wouldn't like everyone staring at me while he was thanking me. I am such a wuss.

This has nothing to do with the actual festival but this spot is just so pretty I have to show it

I just like living in a town that got loads of pretty trees and flowers and fountains. Norrköping  is wonderful in the summer... and in the winter aswell. I will show you pictures of that in a few months!

To next year I really should bring enough money to buy a poncho, I say that every year and I always forget it until next year. One could almost think I was blonde!

Sick, sick, sick

I haven't been writing here in two days or so. Have you missed me?

The reason of course being the sickness. Yesterday, on my birthday, I barely left the couch because of 39-40 degrees fever. Today is a bit better, but I still got fever and now I got a nice cough aswell. Life is just wonderful. I really hate summer colds. And the timing? On my birthday? That just isn't fair!

Luckily my dear mom came over with a few gifts and, more importantly, some medicin! Nose spray so I could finally breathe easily again! Much love to mom for that! Today I can sit up, even though my head is pounding all the time and I rather spend more time on the sofa again. Will return to it soon.

Dear husband is in the kitchen fixing some pork with stewed brown beans. Swedish cuisine is amazing!

Typical

Its typical, here it is my birthday and of course I gotten the flu. At least the fever seem to have gone down, it was way up last night. So its 5am and I am sitting here feeling a bit sorry for myself. I think I am allowed to whine today to be honest.

Anyways, will post more later when I have gotten some more sleep!

Bitchmode *ON*

Today I am in a grumpy mood. Its just something with comming home from a long work day to find two people drinking beer in your sofa that just puts you off. I was SO tired and just wanted to relax, I hate being forced into being social after work like that. Not that I was social, I just went tot he computer and ignored them. They got sport so not like it could disturb them.
It really does annoy me tho, over 9 hour workday on a weekend and I can't even relax in my own home when I get home. And I feel like a total bitch for whining about it but I really need to whine.

Somehow they managed to get the entire appartment stinking of beer, that doesn't really help with the headache. And on the sofa table there are 2 half full beer cans left after they left. It's charming. Really.

It's also nice thinking about the dinner we should have tonight, wonder how it will be with that considering I got no idea when my dear husband gets back home. Kinda getting too late for food now anyways. Argh, not a good day for me. Gonna go get some pain killers and continue being grumpy in silent!

Oh by the way...

When I got up today I felt so lazy. I mean really really lazy. And in the afternoon I sitll hadn't moved my lazy butt down to the gym. And then MIchael wrote to me on MSN and asked if I had been working out. I was about to say no but changed my mind, then I thought about lying because I really did not want to look lazy. Then I realised how utterly silly I was so I got up, changed clothes and went and did my workout.

Friends can be very good motivation, even when they don't mean to be. Thanks for that M!

Wrestling

Yes I know, most of you don't care about wrestling at all. Well though luck for you! Although, I think our kitten would agree with you because this is what he looked like yesterday when we watched WWE Smackdown:
Emeriss falling asleep during WWE Smackdown

During that match not even I can blame him though... Slam Master J vs Chris Masters. It was all very very boring.

However, I do really like wrestling. I didnt't before, my ex tried to get me interested but for some reason it never took hold. Then I met Thomas, and I did grumble a bit when I found out he liked wrestling. Would I never get away from grown men beating on eachother? But something changed, this time I fell for it. And I fell hard! But I do ask, how can a girl NOT fall when you got eye candy like this

To the right you got Randy Orton, the major heel (bad guy) of WWE Raw and on the left the wonderfully talented John Morrison. Mr Morrison is a heel turned face (good guy). I have been cheering for him for more than 1,5 year but it is only recently that others do aswell, now that he is a face.

"But wrestling, isn't that just fake?" you say. Well, part of it, the matches are scripted after all, and all the drama around is very much scripted. But still, when you watch alot of it you can easily spot the bad wrestlers (*cough* Cena *cough*) from the good wrestlers like Morrison and Orton. And I do not think it is ALL fake. Sure, you can see them faking some moves, things that are only ment to look good but I have my doubts about faking jumps from 3 meters up or big hits that leave marks on the body after. What do you think they do, stopped mid-fight to add some makeup?

Anyways, fake or not I find it addictive. So now I sit each week and watch WWE Smackdown and Raw. There are many other wrestling shows out there but these are the two I follow. And I do not only like the good looking guys as a friend accused me of. It is not my fault that the good looking guys are good wrestlers!

Here is a fast clip of John Morrisons finishing move, and even non-wrestling fans should admit it does look cool

Baking

We were bored, and in the mood for something yummy!

So we made a sponge cake with blueberry jam filling. It really is too bad the jam always sink to the bottom, guess I should add it half way through instead. It really did taste yummy though!

I should start to plan the cake for my birthday I guess, its always fun. I like a reason to bake something fancy. The only reason to have a birthday is to bake a cake! And to get pretty presents, of course.
