Games
Thomas is going on and on about WoW. His new character is amazing lvl 2 or something. I wonder if I will let him live long enough to hit 80! As for me, I don't feel the urge.. yet. I probably will sooner or later but right now it's only the people I miss and not the actual game.
I am longing for Diablo III. I want it now now now! I have been longing for Diablo III since I first cleared Diablo II. For me it was Diablo that started my gaming life. I didn't know much about games before. At least not that kind of games, I only knew about games that was about a snake eating little dots or gorillas throwing bomb bananas at each other (hm, I wonder what that game was called). Diablo however opened a new world to me. My little rogue was amazing running around shooting her arrows or saying silly things (Yup, that's a cow alright!) when I clicked on stuff.
And then came Diablo II. And it was huge! First choice there was a sorceress but later on I gave my heart to the assassin. I reinstalled it a few weeks ago and that game is still going strong even tho I seen it all time and time again. And so I sit dreaming about Diablo III. The first videos posted looks amazing but knowing Blizzard it's probably a year in the future still. They would rather let us wait and give us a game worth this wait. I know this, but my patience does not!
Through the years many games have flashed over my monitors. Some (like Warhammer Online) got deleted again pretty fast. Others I loved. Like Heroes of Might and Magic. I played several instalments of that game and loved most of them. However last time I thought they had ruined parts of it by removing the simplicity, too much placing of armies and things like that. Big part of the charm have been that they are funny and interesting yet simple and easy to grasp.
Other games: Warlords II, Age of Empires, Worms, NeverWinter Nights, Serious Sam, Rollercoaster Tycoon, Spore, Civilization and of course... EverQuest!
EverQuest was my ticket into the world of mmorpg and I been stuck ever since. Probably because I had the most amazing kick ass guild! I still miss Forsaken Realm every now and then. We had so much fun together, all those people working together. I don't think non-gamers can understand the community you build within a game when you play together as much as we do (did).
This little pink frog was my lovely EverQuest character. She was ment to be called Jumpa Lot but by the time she was big enough for surname she became Jumpa Sweetbuns and later on Jumpa Panzerfrog when created the Panzer-family. I think we had Panzernuke, Panzertank, Panzerfrog, Panzermonk and a few others.
Thinking about this still makes me smile. I am making myself miss gaming. Damnit!
Time to go solve crosswords me thinks. Will talk about my WoW time some other day.
Over and out
